Club News - Spring 2024

We have 7 weeks of junior summer training sessions planned from Wednesday 10 April to Wednesday 22 May. 

Summer sessions are charged per session, with reduced fees for Full members.

• Full Junior member - £6 per session
• Casual Junior member - £8 per session

We are also offering an early bird reduction on the summer training fees if paid before the summer sessions begin, by Tuesday 9 April.

• Full Junior member - £37 (saving of £5) for all 7 weeks
• Casual Junior member - £50 (saving of £6) for all 7 weeks

The MHHC Intra-club Summer League is back! Six weeks of fun starting on Thursday 18 April running through to Thursday 23 May. 

The MHHC Summer League is open to all aged 13 and over and consists of mixed mini-league matches (5- or 6-a-side) played over 6 weeks at Robert Smyth Academy.

Players must sign up to play, and will be assigned to a team made up of a mix of players from across the club. Players will be in the same team for the duration of the 6-week tournament. Teams and fixtures will be sent out to all registered players before the first matches.

Please note: only members with no outstanding payments on their MHHC Teamo account will be permitted to take part in this tournament. If you have a query regarding your account please contact the Treasurer (via Teamo).

Our Men's section will be playing in the Midlands Mercian Summer Hockey League again this Summer, with fixtures from May through to August. If you would like to be included in the team, or if you are not interested in playing this year, please let us know so the team can be updated for the duration of the League fixtures. 

Over the Summer we would like to recall all borrowed club match shirts. All the shirts described below belong to the club and should be returned ASAP:

• Adidas WHITE shirts – sponsor Nature's Store, numbers from 1-30
• Adidas GREEN shirts – sponsor Parr Automotive, numbers 500+
• Adidas GREEN shirts – sponsor Rutland Veterinary Centre, all numbers
• Stanno GREEN shirts – sponsor Redrow, all numbers

At the end of this season our Treasurer, Simon Ingram-Hawkes, is stepping down from the Committee. Therefore the club will require a new Treasurer for next season, to be elected at the AGM in a few months time.

The role of Treasurer takes approximately 1.5 hours a week. Basic excel skills are required, and a knowledge of bookkeeping would be useful. If you'd like more information or have any questions about the role, please contact Simon via Teamo or by email - treasurer@mhhockey.co.uk.

We are setting up a Junior Committee to help plan and organise activities and events involving our younger members. It would be great to have some parents and carers of our junior members involved with this committee, to help the junior section over the next season and beyond.
