Some close games for the men's teams this weekend, and our another win for the Women's 1s means they have almost secured their place as Division Champions!
MEN'S 1 won 6-4 at home to Panthers (Leicester) 1
Goals: Simon Chapman & Alex Hammant (5)
MEN'S 2 lost 3-4 away to Leicester City 1
Goals: Ben Sleeman (2) & Isaac Smith
MEN'S 3 lost 1-2 away to Coalville & Loughborough Carillon 4
Goal: Richard Goswell
The 3s travelled to Loughborough to play Carillon in a bottom of the table “6 pointer” and unfortunately came away with a 2-1 loss. A win would have secured the teams place in the Division but we now need to hope other results go our way to stay up.
The defence in the first half were mainly in control with Simon Scott, Raoul Mercer, Alex Osborne and Dave Littlewood playing some nice hockey. Finn Ingram-Hawkes in goal played well and made good saves from the couple of breaks they had. Unfortunately, things did not quite gell in midfield and up front with us trying to take players on rather than pass it round them. A break saw Carillon get a goal and we were 1-0 down at half time.
A stern half-time talk seemed to work with us coming out in the second half with the team work and passing return. Toby Fletcher, Ted Baker and Will Feavyour started controlling the midfield creating many chances. Unfortunately, the forwards Noel Burton, James Attenborough, Richard Goswell and Steve Pateman could not quite find the net with their keeper making some good saves.
We were pushing forward when we lost the ball and they had rare quick break and scored a 2nd goal. We kept pushing with Goswell getting a well deserved goal to give us hope but we could not get the 2nd ending 2-1 down.
MEN'S 4 lost 1-5 at home to Sikh Union (Coventry) 3
Goal: Martyn Wilkinson
Player of the Match: Jake Sutherland
A decent Men's 4s team were made to look poor by an average Sikh Union Team. The visitors took control with two quick goals in the first 10 minutes and Harborough never really recovered. The visitors scored another mid way through the first half before Harborough pulled one back before half time. With the game all to play for in the second half Harborough looked lethargic and allowed the visitors to add two more to the score without reply.
The first win of the season still eludes us and if we want to make it happen we need to dig deep, up our game and look like we want a win. When we play our game we are as good as many of the teams around us, but need to give 100% for ourselves and our team mates, keeper and captain included. We have two more matches to remove the 0 in the win column. In the next two weeks we need go give it our all and “go hard or go home”.
WOMEN'S 1 won 2-0 at home to Oundle 1

Player of the Match: Charlie James
WOMEN'S 2 lost 1-11 away to Leicester 1
Goal: Kayleigh Creighton
Player of the Match: Sue Burton
